Working with vendors and consultancies

You're delivering a transport technology project and need a specialist for one part of it, such as an integration, a data feed or a trip planner. We work as your subcontractor, inside your project.

How we fit into your project

You run the project. This is how we work inside it.

  1. Your contract

We work as your subcontractor, under your contract with your client.

  2. Your plan and reporting

We work to your programme and milestones, use your project tools, and report when and how you ask.

  3. Your codebase and pipeline

We work in your repositories and release through your CI/CD pipeline. On the Embark trip planner, that meant learning its codebase and its full release pipeline.

  4. Your brand

If your client should deal with one supplier, we work under your name, and our documents carry your branding.

  5. Your client

We agree in each contract how we deal with your client, during the project and after it.

  6. After launch

We support our part after launch, or hand it over to your team with its documentation.

How we're engaged

  • A fixed scope and cost

Each phase has its own scope and cost, agreed before it starts. We can line the phases up with your programme's milestones.

  • Capacity by the day

For a few weeks or months of a bigger programme, we work on a day rate. We give you the rate when we scope the work.

  • How we contract

Directly as your subcontractor, or under a teaming agreement while you bid.

  • Frameworks

We aren't on any public framework yet. When your contract comes through one, we work as your subcontractor under it.

Work we've done as a subcontractor

The trip planner work we did for Mecatran, for a US transit agency.

Subcontract work

Embark trip planner

Updates to the trip planner that Embark, the transit agency for Oklahoma City, gives its riders. We worked as Mecatran's subcontractor, in the trip planner's codebase and through its release pipeline.

  1. The agency

    Embark

Runs public transport in Oklahoma City. Its riders plan journeys with the trip planner.

  2. Our client

    Mecatran

A transit data business. The trip planner work came to us through them.

  3. Our part

    Bytes Mobility

Changes to the trip planner, tested and released through its CI/CD pipeline.
